Description

no pic since this is a custom build that I dont think i can match up but its a 'Pirate' unit and the jolly rodger may be used from now on when I do pirate mechas to denote them, that and its neat.

Overview:
Quite simply an ugly mech, this low tech, high cost hybrid was
first intended as a utility mech for dense forested planets, carrying
dual chainsaws and a varity of heat based weapons for brush and stump
removal. Each arm contains a massive carbide tipped chainsaw and a
wheat threasher like combine underneath for grass and plantlife
removal. Massing it at a 100 tons, the mech was intened to be a
bridge between bulky ICE drives, fusion drives and durability factors
between battlemechs and utilitymechs. Instead of a single designer
the hulking, humanoid machine was co built by several small investors
and produced on Solaris 7 on a unit by unit order tag.The final
production design also included a fragmentary and incindeary grenade
launcher, intened for removal of rubble and large rocks in an
intended cutting area, howver the inital plans never progressed. With
a purchase price of nearly 30millon C bills, few industrial
corperations were willing to purchase the designs, not powerful
enough to be a combat mech, too expensive to keep producing, the
factory that initally built them, ceased production after the first
lot of 100 failed to sell more then a handful. Realizing thier design
was neither a war machine or a effective tool mech the company
collected the entire remaining stock and shipped it corewards
intending to dismantle and remove the salvageable parts, said plan
however was not going to happen. While en route a sudden encounter
with a electrical storm threw the cargo ships out of thier path and
deep into the periphery where thier stunned and damanged crew were
quickly captured by pirates. Seeing the value of these hybrid
machines, armored and powered like a battlemech, tools and low cost
low drain weapons, said group began using them in clusters everywhere
from the Hegemony to the Concordat. Soon enough the machine that was
unnamed became known as the Urban Pirate, as thier pilots would often
use the tools within citys, causing ruin and rubble, saving the
weapons harware to destroy banks, armored trucks and any offense the
city under attack could muster. While the pirate group has never been
identified, the corporation that built the machines has offered a
several millon C$bill reward for information on the group or how to
regain thier lost property.

Capabilities:
The Urban Pirate is best suited for forested areas where the
chainsaw comes into play, though thier current owners are more likely
found in a city, terrorizing the rather low tech borders of the Inner
Sphere with their massive mechs. Several creative tactics have
spawned,from using the missles to delay ignitte fuel tanks to using
the saws to cut buildings to fall on oppoents.

Deployment:
100 units total, the actual number remaining in the hands of the
pirate group is unknown.

Battle History:
Scores of attacks on various worlds along the boarder of the
Inner Sphere, typcially agaisnt poorly or unarmed targets. Main area
of attack seem to be in the MH or the TC sectors.

Known Variants:
Single Design, deemed a failure in the Houses, it sees use as a
raiding machine elsewhere.

incase anyone wonders these mechs are made using the Drawing Board battlemech program, figured its time i stopped talking about battlemechs and get back into creating them.
